We found out yesterday that Luke has pneumonia. It has been a long week of sickness. He had fever last Sunday night and Monday and we took him to the doctor on Tuesday. She said his lungs sounded clear, ears and throat were good. She swabbed him to check for flu and that came back negative.
He went to school on Wednesday and Thursday, but was not 100%. When I picked him up from Nena & Papa's house on Thursday afternoon, he was acting really tired and he was burning up with fever. He had 102.9. So he missed school again on Friday. We took him to the walk-in clinic on Saturday morning. When she listened with her stethoscope she said his lungs sounded wheezy, so she ordered blood work (via fingerprick-thank goodness!!!!) and an X-ray. His blood work came back normal, but his X-ray showed that he had pneumonia. She said it was pretty bad. She said if he was not significantly better by Monday, they would need to admit him to the hospital. After getting a shot in the leg, he was sent home with an inhaler and an antibiotic, but the fever has not gone away. I knew he was feeling horrible when I offered to take him to Toys R Us for being brave and he said he wanted to go home instead. Man! That is NOT like him! :)
Please keep him in your prayers. I will keep you all posted.
Sorry the picture is sideways! I could not figure out how to turn it around. Does anyone know how to upload a vertical picture onto Blogspot? I know other people have had this problem.

Luke is definitely in my prayers. I hope he starts to feel better soon. Keith and I were both on the verge of having pneumonia this past week. We both had severe cases of bronchitis that could have turned in to pneumonia. I know just how Luke feels...Keith knew I was sick when he offered to stop by Shakey's on our way home and I told him I'd just rather go home (if I pass up ice cream, you know I'm sick! : ) Again, Luke will be in our prayers. If there is anything we can do (bring by groceries, pick something up somewhere, whatever) please let me know. Love,Sunshine
Oh my! You've gotta get that boy better.
Poor guy! We prayed for him in children's church yesterday and I said a prayer for him this morning. I hope he doesn't have to go into the hospital! Let us know if you need anything.
